What is the best way to maximise your real estate sales and deliver the best sales and marketing message into your market place?
In our opinion, it is appropriate to look outside the golf industry and examine the talent that exists within the financial services sector, specifically those individuals who are currently working within the real estate and wealth management/private banking sectors.
Many of these individuals have become casualties of the economic downturn – but these are not necessarily the individuals we are focusing on. We are, however, looking at the most successful executives from the sector currently working for well positioned banks and who have access to private clients and institutional markets.
There is a growing number of these professionals who are looking at a different ways of developing their career paths, especially those who have an interest in golf and who would make the transition extremely well, bringing a freshness and new dynamic element to the whole concept of real estate sales.
We have seen an increasing number of our clients asking us to specifically focus on the financial services sector to source individuals. They are looking to take advantages of the skills sets and gain access to the private clients.
Indeed, we have specialists on our own team who have a background in the financial services industry and who have been able to source extremely interesting candidates who have subsequently validated our view on bringing such individuals into the golf business.
The golf business benefits from fresh talent – and candidates from the financial services industry bring skills, experience and a professional approach that the golf business needs.

I investigated this area as a substitute means to finance our building program, but most of our contacts were dramatically affected by the financial crisis. I am totally sceptical of the EU as a cohesive financial environment for SME's having not been able to source £1 of bank finance in the last 7 years of planning development and am certain that the banking and wealth mgt sectors provide sales/finance potential if the keys to their door can be found. I am currently considering the spin-off and partial syndication of our golf course via a new vehicle, in order to fund the first phase works, with membership benefits to shareholders, including plot options on the estate. Our golf course is said to be one of the most beautiful in Europe, located as it is within an oak forest, and is 5km from Vichy a beautiful historic spa town, now focusing on sport, cuisine and leisure, as well as its unique spa treatments. This is an ideal product for high net worth individuals only 75mins flight from London. I would welcome a discussion with you to see how this strategy might be developed.
